TWILIGHT BAY IS RELEASED ON 12TH MAY!

27th April 2023

If 'Afro Boutique' was the funk track favourite of summer 'Twilight Bay' is surely the house track of the year. Inspired by the band's love of the Cornish coast, the song celebrates the joy of everything beach life has to offer, from refreshing swims in the sea, surfing the waves, to enjoying boat trips and dancing by log fires.
With pulsing synthesizer melodies and pumping beats, get your hands up and boogie on down to 'Twilight Bay'.

MESMERIZED INTERVIEW

18th January 2023

'Tim: I began learning drums in school at 12 and moved on to incorporating guitar in college from the age of 16. There I began to dep for other musicians in my local area of High Wycombe – getting to play many shows and even owning my own music night eventually before starting a couple of bands. At this point, I took a break from music and, with a lot of grit, got into a Uni for music thus leading to my bachelors for music with Hons and an amazing band with Alex.

Alex: I sang in choirs when I was at school in Virginia in the U.S.A. when my father was working out there for the British Army, and in musicals like ‘Kiss me Kate’  when I was in the West of England Youth Theatre Company. I taught myself guitar after taking bass guitar lessons and started writing songs when I was about 15 or 16. I think I’d be lost without music or acting…I was represented by Ugly Models for about 10 years when I was doing character acting. You might have seen an episode of Brainiac with me busking badly and well to see how much money I made.'

GOOD MUSIC RADAR REVIEW OF 'MYTHIC BOUNTY'

13th January 2023

'In their new single, Mythic Bounty, For The Ages create a luminous soundscape, with each melody swishing about with soft euphoria.........
The track opens with refreshing acoustic strings and synths before it segues with the drums to feed into the enchanted garden of synth melodies, electric guitar flourishes, and mystical vocals. There are remarkable flashes of vintage rock accents sprinkled into the contemporary mist of indie-rock arrangements.'

ELNEWS REVIEW OF 'MYTHIC BOUNTY'

15th December 2022

'There is nothing I can say to get your ears ready for the stunning harmonies you will hear once you press play'.....'"Mythic Bounty" aims to gain a place in the hearts and thoughts of listeners who value fantastic folk-rock music. Folk music, according to Avi Kaplan, "is very honest, it's very humble, it's very organic, and the voice is exactly that." That is precisely the quality that defines this outstanding work by "For the Ages."

'For The Ages’ latest release, ‘Mythic Bounty,’ is a jovial and upbeat pop song that will catch your ear with its intriguing melody and bright vocals......The resulting work is a single that sings to the heart, a single that takes its inspiration from rock and pop and blends them in a perfect 50/50 shot of brilliance.'

MYTHIC BOUNTY

Released 25th November 2022

'Romeo and Juliet' by Dire Straits is a song treasured by Alex and many others partially as it draws on the fantastic classic story of star-crossed lovers. 'Mythic Bounty' seeks to earn its place in the hearts and minds of those that appreciate great folk rock music, paying homage to the romance between Robin Hood and Maid Marion. Starting with a gentle airy acoustic guitar sequence, it quickly builds up to a rousing chorus, drawing in a mix of references to the spiritual and romantic elements that characterised that fantastic love story.

AFRO BOUTIQUE

Released 1st July

Afro Boutique' is surely destined to be a funk track favourite this summer. If you like 'Uptown Funk' (Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars), 'Dance to the Music' (Sly and the Family Stone), or 'Fresh' (Kool & The Gang) this is the song for you.
For The Ages has worked extensively on the arrangement, that all started with a very catchy guitar hook. Such talented musicians contributed the very best that they had to offer in 'Afro Boutique' - from the charismatic bass line and punchy drums, to the silky smooth backing vocals and captivating horns. Get on down to 'Afro Boutique'.

'THE PENDULUM' RECEIVES A RAVE REVIEW BY ILLUSTRATE MAGAZINE

20th August 2022

'From the first glance of its art, the eclectic blend of blues and purples with a swinging pendulum frozen in motion sets the tone of 90s disco. However did it come to that, you might wonder? It’s a mish-mash of diversity, just like Timothy Sturt and Alexander Beckett intended with their love of musical genres. And as you guessed, they are our mighty duo of this British band that seeps into the minds of listeners with their indie/rock tracks. Their journey began together back in late 2019, in pursuit of merging the best of dreamy music.'

THE PENDULUM

Released 27th May

Returning to their love of electronic music, 'The Pendulum' compliments previous releases 'The Inventor' and 'Bold Pattern of Life'. With a gentle captivating soca beat and dreamlike synth melodies, the song integrates the best aspects of 90s and modern dance, and Caribbean music.
Recognising the value of the simple things in life, the lyrics ellicit fond memories of childhood stories and experiences. The Pendulum swings in your favour!

It's been a long time coming but it's finally here - the official music video for Morning Blue goes live today.

The song focuses on taking remedial action to overcome the impacts and remorse from humans’ degradation of the environment. The music is inspired by Led Zeppelin and rock bands from the 1990s. Hope springs anew when mornings are bright and the sky is blue.
