Tim and Alex’s love of music from a vast range of genres, and ambition to produce songs that will stand the test of time, sparked the creation of For The Ages in 2018. Having juggled the generation of two albums worth of material alongside other commitments, the band is energised for performances in 2026 – hoping to lift and animate audiences everywhere with their house, funk, electronica, and rock (etc.!) tracks.

Timothy Sturt studied music at the London College of Contemporary Music. Outside of his work as a Team Leader in the care sector, he has played drums or guitar at countless gigs and likes gaming and jabbering! Fellow multi-instrumentalist, Alexander Beckett, has balanced his interests in music, voiceover work and acting (aka Crispin) with a career in environmental management. Like Tim, he also loves science-fiction; and Alex’s long-term ambition is to have an organic farm where he can hold festivals.

Included in their catalogue is: their uplifting funk track ‘Afro Boutique’  - which won a Syncr competition in 2023; smooth house track ‘Twilight Bay’ which is inspired by the Cornish coast; ’Mythic Bounty’, that “aims to gain a place in the hearts and thoughts of listeners who value fantastic folk-rock music” (Elnews); ‘Bold Pattern of Life’, an EDM/rave classic that celebrates life;  and ‘The Pendulum’, of which Illustrate Magazine said (that it) ‘carries a reminiscence of Dua Lupa’s “IDGAF”’.
